Unmembership
At Chabad, no membership is required to participate in anything Jewish.
So how is everything we do funded? Chabad of Bayshore exists and thrives 100% from local families and generous supporters like yourself. We do not receive any outside funding.
It is thanks to your membership and support that we continue to offer incredible programming and welcome any and every local Jewish family through our doors.
The Chai Society
The CHAI SOCIETY Members are the pillars of our community. It is because of you that we can continue to offer the highest level of educational, religious and social programming, and make this available to all, regardless of their ability to pay. In appreciation, Chai Society Members are recognized on our donor wall and at our annual supporters event.
CHAI means life, by joining this society you bring spiritual life and you make a huge impact on hundreds of local Jewish families.
Please join and give CHAI - life to others!
Habit of Kindnes
Maimonides teaches that it's better to give numerous, smaller donations, than one lump sum, even though they add up to the same amount. The logic is twofold: (1) Each individual mitzvah has unique value irregardless of the size. (2) The more acts of giving we do, we nurture a habit of kindness within ourselves which pays dividends in every area of our lives.
How much?
A little more than you were thinking. The Rebbe taught us to always push ourselves, a little bit at a time. At the same time, try to pick an amount that you'll be comfortable keeping steady
